Power Rankings: Week 2
Week 3 coming in HOT! Saddle up boys, the good teams are starting to distances themselves from the pack.
Ryan (2-0)
Last Week: 1st
MJ’s college fund could be off to a decent start by the time January comes around. If Allen and Diggs are going to be in sync like Justin Timberlake all season, then we can all kiss our championship aspirations bye bye bye. Mind you - we haven’t even detected a heartbeat from Alvin Kamara yet.
Case (1-1)
Last Week: 6th
Remember last week when I questioned your WR depth? Apparently Jaylen Waddle took that personally. Taylor, Chubb, Dillon, and Pollard make up a stellar backfield, and the Lamar/Andrews stack is very classy. Even with Waddle’s explosion, WR depth is still a notable weakness though.
Kyle (1-1)
Last Week: 3rd
Can’t wait for Chet to b*tch and moan about this one. This is one of the few teams that has a non-zero shot at ending the season with the QB1, RB1, and WR1. If Kyle Pitts gets his act together - maybe TE1 is in the cards too! To attain full potential though, Godwin needs to suit up.
Bacich (2-0)
Last Week: 8th
It hurts indeed! Nick Saban’s backup has pundits talking about the Eagles like they’re Super Bowl contenders - can we blame them? With limited production from RB thus far, the WRs have been carrying their weight and then some. 2-0 and flying high.
Chet (2-0)
Last Week: 5th
BALANCE. Reliable QB, three safe RBs, two stud wideouts, and a brittle Kittle. The roster depth more closely resembles the shallow end of the pool, but there’s still plenty of reason for optimism.
Devon (1-1)
Last Week: 2nd
Mulligan. Don’t let the bum week distract you from the reality that this is a very strong roster. Both Ekeler and Fournette have underperformed thus far, Pittman was out on Sunday, and we’re still waiting on Dobbins. If Garrett Wilson ends up being the real deal, then that’s just the cherry on top.
Henry (1-1)
Last Week: 7th
Clutch W to dodge an 0-2 start. Mixon is one once again Cincy’s bellcow, and Jeff Wilson looks to have a firm hold on Jimmy G’s backfield while Elijah Mitchell ices up. This isn’t a WR unit that sparks fear in the eyes of an opponent, but they demand a high target share and should be respected across the league.
Cole (1-1)
Last Week: 9th
Acknowledging the small sample size, this is one of the lower scoring teams in the league - and I’m not sure how? King Henry and Javonte haven’t been themselves yet, but Gibson & JRob have been cash money. Bateman and Kirk have been scoring machines, and Tee Higgins + Gabe Davis present a nice combo as well. Let’s see if Tua can rally the troops!
Brad (0-2)
Last Week: 4th
Well, Mahomes is still Mahomes, and Swift has an excellent shot to end up as THE RB1. The problem? Keenan is banged up, Landry and Thielen’s best days are behind them, and James Robinson has been FARRR more involved in Duvall County’s backfield than any of us could have ever imagined.
Austin (1-1)
Last Week: 12th
Much, much, better. While the head-scratching reaches for Rodgers and Akers may end up capping the roster’s ceiling, The Sun God will certainly help out in a big way. Between he and McCaffrey, this top-heavy lineup offers enough volume to win any given matchup.
Z (0-2)
Last Week: 11th
Bad record, good roster. Mike Thomas appears to have restored his 2018 self, Sanders is seeing a lot of usage in Philly’s revamped offense, and lest we not forget that Nuk is patiently waiting out his suspension on the bench. As an armchair economist, I’m buying the dip here.
Tom (0-2)
Last Week: 10th
Consider yourself free - free from my curse. My reign of terror has come to an end. Even with above average WR talent, it’s hard to have confidence in anyone other than Jettas and Aaron Jones right now. The easy days are no more, it’s time to scratch and claw.
