Power Rankings: Week 13

Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.

Alas, my final Power Rankings of the 2022 GLOAT Season. Thank you for indulging me once again! Looking forward to putting these articles together for many years to come. This league is too much fun - love you boys.

2022 has been a dogfight, so it’s only fitting that the final playoff spot will come down to the outcome of Week 14. It doesn’t get any better than that.

  1. Chet & Mike (9-4)

    Last Week: 3rd

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the team name? I can’t be - right?  I’ve been staring at it for several minutes now and I still don’t get it. Joe Brrrr-Oh and the boys have a championship in sight. A win today would secure a first round BYE - making them one step closer to Valhalla.

  2. Cole (9-4)

    Last Week: 2nd

Big time players make big time plays when the big lights are on. An interesting opportunity awaits in Week 14. A victory would not only ensure a restful Week 15, but it could also curb stomp a dangerous opponent’s playoff hopes.

  3. Ryan (8-5)

    Last Week: 1st

Tough break, cookie. Adding on to the insult of Week 13’s L, Week 14 presents a series of ill-timed BYE weeks and injuries. Ryan needs a loss from Cole or Chet whilst maintaining his lead in total points scored in order to earn a first round pass. Chances are, this squad will have to earn a championship banner the hard way by playing an extra week.

  4. Kyle (7-6)

    Last Week: 5th

All hell would need to break loose in order to not make the playoffs - so there isn’t much to stress about today. The first round BYE is out of reach, meaning this Week 14 outcome will only determine whether Harwood earns the 3rd, 4th, or 5th seed. Enjoy the quick break, because Week 15 will bring Kyle’s FIRST EVER PLAYOFF APPEARANCE.

  5. Case (6-7)

    Last Week: 4th

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. But there’s still hope! Win, and you’re in. There’s far too large of a point differential for any of the 6-7 teams to surpass on a single Sunday. Lose though - and Case would would be on the ropes with Stain, Hank, & Devon clinging on for dear life.

  6. Bacich (7-6)

    Last Week: 7th

You just keep proving me wrong - don’t ya? My opinion no longer matters - as a playoff appearance is all but certain! A Week 14 W would remove all chance. The only way a loss could prevent a postseason appearance would be if Austin/Henry win and outscore Bacich by roughly 60 points. Not likely.

  7. Devon (6-7)

    Last Week: 8th

The playoff drought has been long. Will it end today? Devon needs a victory, and losses from Case, Austin, and Henry. There’s also a 50 point deficit that Devon could jump in the event that he and Austin/Henry both win - but let’s not get too crazy.

  8. Henry (6-7)

    Last Week: 6th

Hank & Stain are in the exact same situation, separated by 0.28 points with the same 6-7 record. So what’s it gonna take? For Hank - a loss from Case and a victory over Kyle whilst ousting Austin in total points scored. Given the matchup, it’s anything but an easy task.

  9. Austin (6-7)

    Last Week: 10th

Beat T$, pray for a loss from Case, and either have Hank lose or maintain the slim point margin over him. The good news is that Stain’s matchup is a helluva lot easier than Henry’s. Anything short of victory would result in a second consecutive consolation bracket.

  10. Tom (5-8)

    Last Week: 9th

40 more points score than Cole. Bitter? You’re GD right I’m bitter. But in the words of the Ironborn, “what is dead can never die”. A Week 14 victory + Case L + Devon L + Hank L + outscore Case by 16 = PLAYOFFS. With this depleted lineup though, calling it a long shot is the understatement of the year.

  11. Brad (5-8)

    Last Week: 11th

Between the 5-8 record and the large point deficit, the fat lady is officially singing. It’s baseball season. *slaps butt*

  12. Bali (4-9)

    Last Week: 12th

Congrats on 12th place! But hey - you can still play the role of “spoiler”. In fact, Austin, Case, Henry, and I would really appreciate it.
