Power Rankings: Week 3

Let’s get right into it!

  1. Case (3-0)

    Last Week: 2nd

Okay, okay, okay! Case and the boys have officially distanced themselves from the rest of the pack. Mediocre days from Mark Andrews and Bijan? No problemo. Even the bench is scary - Garrett Wilson, Brandon Aiyuk, Sam LaPorta, and the likes. Case is making his best case for Ring #2.

  2. Kyle (1-2)

    Las Week: 3rd

Strictly with regards to opponent scoring, this has been one of the unluckiest teams in the league. This was a statement victory, and few rosters across the league offer this level of balance. Tua broke this Dolphins lineup out of captivity in SeaWorld, making big waves across the league. CMC is 1 of 1, and for some reason we all looked away from Keenan Allen on draft day because “he’s old” and “just not that sexy anymore”. We were wrong to do that.

  3. Mike & Chet (2-1)

    Last Week: 1st

Dirty Mike and the Boys are hummin’! Cortland Sutton was holding onto a buttered pigskin all afternoon, but this marks the second straight game in which he’s out-targeted Jerry Jeudy. Extra Virgin Olave Oil gets his bread, and Etienne has rediscovered the receiving chops he showcased so much back at Clemson. If JSN comes into form, this would likely become the steadiest WR room in all of GLOAT.

  4. Bacich (2-1)

    Last Week: 5th

Good team. But I’m turning this into a Tyreek Hill appreciation post. The guy is an alien. Maybe it’s the recency bias talking, but Tyreek Hill is the guy who we’re going to be telling our grandkids about. I can only think of a handful of athletes in our lifetime who can dominate and break open a game like he can. Short, intermediate, deep. Release, contested catch, effective in the red zone. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - the greatest home run hitter on TV since Barry Bonds. Sorry Bacich - back to regular programming. It’ll be interesting to see what Watson eventually brings to this lineup, Sherlock.

  5. Ryan (2-1)

    Last Week: 10th

What a time to be alive! Nothing like a victory that comes down to the wire on MNF. This is LIVING. Especially when it comes on the back of an irrelevant Matt Stafford late game TD. But just ask Russell Westbrook - garbage time stats count too! If Ryan can muster any sort of productivity out of the QB slot or Josh Jacobs, then this squad will be able to stack up against anyone.

  6. Devon (1-2)

    Last Week: 9th

Not a bad week by any stretch of the imagination. Even with Aaron Jones out, the lineup still managed to post respectable numbers - they just so happened to face an opponent that went nuclear. Pollard is a bonafide RB1, and Davante Adams reminded everyone that it doesn’t matter who is throwing him the ball. Chances are he won’t be drawing 20 targets each Sunday, but there are very few who do it better than the Bay Area native. Back to back big games from Lamar is also huge for the program.

  7. Austin (2-1)

    Last Week: 7th

The luck ran out on Monday Night, but this is still a team that warrants cautious optimism. Ja’Marr Chase returned to rarified air in Week 3, looking far far far better than his LSU battery mate under center. Jakobi Meyers appears to have been one of the more valuable heists that took place on draft day, as his productivity has completely overshadowed the unfortunate news that Diontae Johnson was put on IR. The key to this group will be Javonte Williams and Z Pacheco. If those two can contribute reliably week in and week out, Stain will be playoff bound.

  8. Pete (1-2)

    Last Week: 6th

Big inhale, slow exhale. T’was a bunk return to reality after a big time showing in Week 2. The clear strength of the team is what I perceive as the deepest RB room in the league (Mixon, Kamara, “9 Lives” Robinson, and Ekeler). Ekeler’s high ankle sprain is certainly reason for concern, as is Joe Burrow’s calf which seemingly discounts the fantasy value of all Cincy weapons not named Chase. All eyes will be on Alvin Kamara and his return to office in Week 4, after an uneventful weekend trip he took to Vegas a few years back!

  9. Brad (1-2)

    Last Week: 12th

I Knew You Were Trouble! Brad was able to Shake It Off, and achieve his Wildest Dreams by putting one in win the column. Gibbs and Pierce have been somewhat underwhelming to date, but the budding Flowers and the throwback Adam Thielen have been welcome sights. And Travis Kelce is just a stud. Forever & Always.

Side Note: Does the inevitability of time scare you too? Brad chose to sit DeAndre Hopkins, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen on Sunday. That would have been an act of blatant tanking in 2020. We’re all just dust in the wind.

  10. Cole (1-2)

    Last Week: 4th

The injury bug has been busy in 2023, and the invasive pest has spent the majority of its time BURROWing within Cole’s lineup. Joe’s calf, Dobbins’ achilles, Saquon’s ankle, Jamaal Williams’ hammy, Jaylen Waddle’s brain, and now MikeDub’s knee. In ‘No Injury Mode’ - this team would ball. It’s brutal.

  11. Henry (1-2)

    Last Week: 11th

Weeks 1-3 have had more ups and downs than a Morgan Wallen and FGL single. Week 3 was another one to forget. This WR room needs some serious help - the good news is that Cooper Kupp qualifies as “serious help”. His return will be a rising tide that lifts all boats.

  12. Waiver Wire

  13. Tom (1-2)

    Last Week: 8th

Chubb is pretty banged up. Akers needs an APB. Justin Fields and the Bears have given all consumers fantasy trichinosis. This team doesn’t warrant anymore energy. Turn off the grill, this season is cooked.
